Vision for Change
COMMUNICATION: Promote open, respectful dialogue through regular open-houses at the township hall, meetings with homeowners’ boards, and public forums. Consistent and constant communication with all residents will be used as input when making decisions and to lead our community into the future.
CONNECTIVITY: Outline a transportation system that connects the diverse communities in the township through better road/traffic management, sidewalks and greater access to public and non-motorized transit.
BALANCED PLANNING: Outline a process and plan that supports diversity in every sector: Economic (e.g., agricultural, small business, research & development); Cultural (e.g., public gathering places, community outreach), and Infrastructural (e.g., affordable and mixed-income housing, multiple modes of transportation).

Responsible Fiscal Stewardship
LIMIT SPENDING: Spend within limits and in communication with residents.
AVOID FORECLOSURES: Partner with the County to help residents avoid going into tax or mortgage foreclosure; work to retain our property values.

Environmental & Economic Prosperity
GREENWAYS: Connect the township’s parks and open spaces to allow for increased access and to develop greenways for recreational and non-motorized use.
ECONOMY: Promote a model of attracting sustainable, green businesses with a long-term commitment and stake in our township.
PARTNERSHIP: Build partnerships with the county, regional associations, and other local unit to: (a) expand community services to residents, especially seniors, youth and veterans; (b) tap collaborative funding streams to protect the environment and promote entrepreneurship.

Community Safety
PUBLIC SAFETY: Modernize equipment to improve response times and resident safety.
ROAD/TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT: Resolve issues of speeding and cut-thru traffic through residential neighborhoods by developing a systematic, township-wide approach.
COMMUNITY SERVICES: Expand direct services to all residents, especially seniors, youth, and veterans to address such issues as public health, tax and mortgage foreclosures, needs of returning veterans, greater access to locally grown foods, and recreational activities.
